The structure of overlapping spheres of groups and home fellowships provides flexibility for the Body to form together in a variety of ever-evolving ways– scheduled and unscheduled, formal and informal, planned and spontaneous. Scheduled meetings offer a space for more intentional ways of gathering, in homes and elsewhere. Those who gather with us are one expression of the Body in the Asheville-Hendersonville area, but we leave Sunday mornings open in hopes of promoting a larger connectedness, involvement, and fusion for the city-wide church– holding fast to the:
~Simplicity and purity of devotion to the Person of Jesus Christ.
~Essential of the great commission, to build people.
~That there is– ultimately– One Church, with One Shepherd.
We are inspired by the call to the Biblical communities described in Acts 2:42-47 and Revelation 2:1ff.
SCHEDULED MEETINGS
SUNDAYS EVENINGS we meet to share food (potluck) and fellowship from 4-6pm, and gather from 6-8:30pm to devote ourselves to corporate prayer, worship, and Word in a small group participatory setting. Last year, we rotated Sundays at different leaders’ homes, but we will be moving the Sunday evening meetings in 2011 to the Haviland-Pabst home (Sonhouse) every week. During the weekdays, various smaller groups meet for different purposes.
